P1acard21 was originally a concept I envisaged of an installation to vent & ‘speak’ to the bias of news headlines reaching saturation point across mainstream media.

A street protest embodied in an art exhibition.

Then when actual protests took to the streets -which I attended in 2021 - the signs & placards I used were displayed in my studio window. The compulsion to write my rambling thoughts/poems in response to govt. misguidedness soon joined the display.

Over the months I continued documenting my thoughts in prose. As if channeled, my process was a spilling of words, a raw delivery in a non-contrived abstract form.
I found it cathartic.
My process was almost spiritual as I felt like I was guided & that it was purposeful beyond self-expression.

I hope the sharing of these thoughts aids the reader in acknowledging the emotions each may have struggled with during the turmoil of this time.

As humans, we need to find ourselves again. We need to get out of our heads and restore our footing on this planet and be true earthlings - lovers and dwellers with a respect for nature and her natural
law.

All strength & love to each person who might find connection, solace, or part of themselves in the words I’ve painted.
